It's been a while...

I just realized that it has been quite a while since I have updated on here.  I never did getting into blogging on Xanga for some reason, even though I love to read other people's posts.

Major Happenings since 2008:

I had my student teaching.  That was quite fun.
I graduated with a degree in secondary history and geography education.
I moved to PA for a job (in Philly) for something completely non-related to my degree.
I have been on a bazillion road trips.

That's about it.    Life is good.  I'm enjoying it.

I never tend to remember to update this blog, although I usually come to read people's posts everyday.

This semester (hopefully my second to last semester!!) has been extremely busy.  I am taking 6 classes, working as many hours as I can on the weekends, along with working in the schools (haven't started that yet).  I will also have to prepare for/take the MTTC this October, along with getting CPR/first aid certified.  Along with that, I should work on my resume, etc. since I KNOW I won't have time once I student teach!

On top of it all, I am still managing to have a social life.  Granted, that means that I don't always sleep--but that is a small price to pay.  :)

Although a lot is going on,  I feel it would take to long to explain anything, so I am going to bed instead.  It's like 2 hrs past my bedtime.

Spring break

Spring break starts next week (after an exam in every single one of my classes this Thurs. first).  Instead of going to Washington D.C. like I had planned, I will be stuck here doing a lot of schoolwork.

I have 3 must-read books.  The shortest one is 200+ pages.   I have to write a  paper on two of them.

I also have to do this huge project regarding my family history for my Michigan History class.

On top of that, it will be the general working, and cleaning the apartment.  Plus, I have to hang out with some friends, and if I get the chance, I may head home for the night.

My life is entirely  too busy.  I am only writing this right now because my night class is canceled.  Although I adore that class (Russian Geography) I am very thankful for a break.

I am feeling non-too-motivated to study for my exams.

I am in a weird mood to cook, instead.

Now that this semester is over, I get to clean my room.

I always love cleaning my room after a semester because I get to get rid of a ton of crap.  I find it hard to throw away the papers that I have written, but also find it to be the most impractical in keeping them.  So, I throw away 99% of my hard work, wipe my hard drive clean, and start fresh.  I only keep the items that I believe may be useful in attaining a job in the future.  Or, like the case of one project, I just couldn't bring myself to throw away 22 pages of single space work.  I just put too many hours into it to have it end up in the trash!

Today is Sunday.  I have a whole list of chores to get through before Jordan gets here tonight.  Then, Jordan will be here until Wednesday.  Thursday I will spend the entire day at Cass's, and then that night is her bachelorette party with the other bridesmaids.  Friday, I work 1:30-5:30,  and then I come home to meet my new roommate.

My new roommate, Sarah, arrives in Michigan on Friday afternoon from England.  She will be an exchange student for a semester here.  Although we haven't met yet, she seems to be nice over email and so I am hoping that this will be a good semester.  I haven't lived with anyone besides Cass for five years, and so this will definitely be a change.  Hopefully it will be a good one, and not a terrible one!

Saturday I work all day again, and then Sunday I start preparing for the new semester!  Gerald, my boss, gave me most of this week off to relax....but it doesn't appear to be much relaxing time!  I'm ok with that though, because I would far prefer to enter into this new semester organized.  Last semester it took me a while to get organized, and that really threw things off for me for a while.

As you can tell, I am procrastinating from finishing my room by writing this.  I should probably get back to it before Jordan gets here.

Wow

It's been a while, hasn't it?

Life is extremely busy. My classes are slowly killing me.  Seriously.  I need to sleep more, esp. now that Christmas  season is upon us.  This year, the season doesn't  seem too terrible...but it's only two days in.  Very tiring though.  I have slept a lot this weekend break. I was basically either at work, or asleep.

Grandpa died a week ago today, so that has been very tiring as well.

I don't want you to think this post is complaining or whining though.  I am very thankful for what I have in my life. There is a lot to be thankful for; such as I have the best friends  in the entire universe.  And so far I haven't been sick this semester!  I am aiming to keep it that way.  The list could go on, and on.

Life is good, just hilly at the moment.

I enjoy reading all of your posts to see how things  are doing in your lives, especially with those that I never get to see anymore!
